PRIVACY

BlackHouse is a static website with no account registration or advertising trackers. The newsletter form on the homepage loads Kit, as described below.

The Ashes × Aether novel reader uses local storage in your browser to remember your font size, reading width, light or dark mode, and last-read chapter and position. This reading data stays on this device and is not sent to BlackHouse or shared with an account. You can remove it using “Clear saved reading data” in Reading settings, or by clearing this site's browser data. Reading still works when local storage is unavailable.

The comic reader keeps its current page in the URL fragment (for example, #page-2). URL fragments stay in your browser and are not sent with HTTP requests. Your browser may retain visited URLs in its history and cache artwork for faster loading.

Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and processes request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, and browser information, to deliver and protect it. Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page loads and browser performance using its analytics beacon. Cloudflare describes its handling of this information in its privacy policy.

Links to Royal Road, original images referenced in author notes, and TikTok lead to third-party websites with their own privacy policies.

Inside BlackHouse uses an embedded Kit newsletter form on the homepage. Loading that page contacts Kit and its form services, which process request information and record form visits. Kit uses browser storage to remember when the popup has appeared and whether you have subscribed, according to the form’s existing display rules. Kit’s hosted signup page may also use cookies and anti-abuse controls. If you subscribe, Kit processes your email address for BlackHouse to send story releases and updates about worldbuilding, creative production, and building the publishing house. Confirm using the link sent to your inbox before receiving newsletters. You can unsubscribe using the link in every newsletter. Subscriber details are handled by Kit, not a BlackHouse subscription database, and are not published on this website. See Kit’s privacy policy.
