CHAPTER 11 — THE THIRD CROWN SUMMIT

VHARON, The Nation of Progress — THE CRYSTALLINE TOWERS

Vharon stretched across the horizon like a civilization carved from glass. Trees soared high beneath the crystal skylines. The culture rich, a melting pot where the people of bordering nations come to experience the newest tech, knowledge and entertainment the Aerth has to offer without carrying the pressure of constant surveillance in X’Ommera.

High-Noon rails screamed between towers, carrying passengers and cargo through a jungle of skylines, concrete monuments, highways and glowing emblems.

The air vibrated with wealth and optimism.

At the city’s heart stood the Celestial Forum, a spire of mirrored marble and light, built for diplomacy, profit, and spectacle.

When the nations gathered, it wasn’t to unite,

but to decide which side of history they wanted to be on.

THE CELESTIAL FORUM — SUMMIT HALL

An enormous oval chamber hummed softly, the sound of energy circulating through the glass itself.

The banners of the Seven Nations swayed in an artificial breeze—Nardox, Sylvanna, Hagg, Zeraphen, Vharon, X’Omnera, and Destiny—symbols of unity built on quiet suspicion.

At the podium stood Nardox’s own; Matriarch Imani, calm yet absolute alongside General Kofi, whose silence carried weight. The room waited on their breath.

IMANI

“Fifty years of silence has yielded one revelation—the gods we buried in myth may not be resting after all.”

The delegates murmured, some scoffing, others afraid to.

Among them sat Dr. Vale Thorn, The X’Omneran scientist hell bent on his pursuits, eyes sharp behind half-lenses, tapping data across his wrist console.

He didn’t fear what he heard, he studied it.

NARDOX — TRAINING FIELDS AT THE EDGE OF THE WILDERNESS

Beyond the ridge stretched the Wilderness, vast and mystic both silent and alive.

Kyro stood at its threshold, golden white aether tracing along his relic.

Kit and Kariah mirroring him, feet grounded, breath steady. The air between them trembling with raw potential.

KYRO:

“Aether is life given direction, it’s something that listens.”

He extended his palm. The field responded.

Grass bowed outward as a column of golden flame spiraled upward, not summoned but remembered.

“Our kind doesn’t need sigils,” he said.

“Draconic flame remembers how to shape the world, and The Covenant swore it's allegiance to that flame. Every breath you take already carries the prayer.”

Kariah’s eyes narrowed. Gentle sparks formed between her hands, almost fragile.

Kit’s aether surged strong, bursting into wild arcs that scattered embers across the field.

“mine still flickers” Kariah let's out with curiosity.

Kyro responds, “Because you ask for permission.”

He turned to Kit.

“And yours burns wild because you demand it.”

He stepped between them, lowering both their hands toward the Aerth.

“The land is older than us. Feel its rhythm, not its fire.

"Don’t try to control it, align with it.”

The field began to glow faintly, responding again to their breathing.

Wind moved through the grass in circular patterns, lifting strands of light that twisted together above their heads.

Twin streams of flame—one soft gold, one deep red—rose from the soil and intertwined, carrying with it the faint feeling of a dragon’s heat before fading.

KYRO:

“Good. You’re remembering how to carry fire, not create it.

One day, you’ll need both restraint and fury.

Aether doesn’t bow to chaos or mercy, only balance and intent.”

Their aether steadied.

For a moment, the entire field pulsed with warmth, no destruction, no dominance, just harmony between flame and breath.

BACK AT— THE SUMMIT

The Vharon Representative rose from his seat, his silver suit reflecting the chamber’s light.

VHARON REP:

“Matriarch, while your scholars search for truth in dust, our engineers uncover it in progress.”

He activated a holographic display, veins of luminous ore mined from the forbidden Wilderness.

VHARON REP (cont’d):

“This element hums with living resonance. It could power our rails for centuries.”

Outcry followed instantly.

COUNCILOR OF HAGG:

“You’ve violated the Neutrality Pact! The Wilderness is forbidden!”

VHARON REP:

“Progress doesn’t wait for permission.”

This earns an almost sinister grin of approval from Dr. Thorn who watches with intent.

Imani lifted a single hand. Silence fell.

IMANI:

“You mistake motion for meaning, Representative.

The Wilderness isn’t forbidden because it’s empty, it’s forbidden because whatever comes back always carries a trace of it.”

The chamber froze.

Vale Thorn’s smiling now, more curiosity than defiance.

DR. VALE THORN (quietly):

“Then let’s teach it obedience.”

NARDOX — RETURN

Kyro lowered his relic into the earth. Its former flame dimmed to a soft halo.

KYRO:

“Control your flow. Don’t fight it.”

Kit exhaled. Kariah followed.

Their aether rose again calm, complete. Aura surrounded their bodies like a a glowing candle. All heat no flame.

KYRO (smiling):

“Good."

The breeze carried embers through the tall grass like drifting memory.

THE SUMMIT

The argument reignited; lights flickered across the glass chamber.

The holographic ore pulsed brighter, almost alive.

IMANI (V.O.):

“Balance… or everything burns.”

The words lingered long after the summit fell to silence.
